Journalist Simon Phillips has told GiveMeSport that Chelsea will consider offers for Kai Havertz if he doesn’t improve this season.
The German scored arguably the biggest goal in the club’s history last year when his strike was enough to down Manchester City in the Champions League final in Porto.
However, since then, things have not worked out so well for the 23-year-old, who still looks like he is adapting to the style of football played in the Premier League.

Despite showing flashes of brilliance, it has been an inconsistent spell at Stamford Bridge for Havertz, with him often still trying to work out exactly where is best to play him.
His best period for the Blues came when he played down the middle of the attack, however his performance during the week for Germany at Wembley suggested he may be better suited to playing behind the central striker.
He certainly drew more praise for his time in the Bundesliga, where current teammate Denis Zakaria described him as ‘incredible’.
Havertz could be sold
Reports have suggested earlier this week that Chelsea owner Todd Boehly is expecting an offer to come in next summer for the German, with Bayern Munich reportedly interested.
Phillips has backed up those claims, whilst also suggesting that they may consider accepting an offer if things don’t improve on the pitch.

He said: “I think this is a make-or-break season for Kai Havertz. If he doesn’t continue to grow and get better, then I think Chelsea would definitely listen to a good offer if it did come in from Bayern Munich or elsewhere. It really is on Kai Havertz.”
With Armando Broja pushing for a start as a more natural striking option, this could see Havertz pick up a more supporting position, either out wide or down the middle.
While his style of play may suit German football perfectly, there is certainly a player still there that Chelsea can get the best out of.
