Key figures at Chelsea are confident of one potential signing in the upcoming summer transfer window.
The Blues are about to embark on an important final stretch of this season, where they’re still fighting to qualify for the Champions League and to win the Conference League. They’re also involved in the Club World Cup tournament this summer, too.
Under this current Chelsea ownership, the transfer windows are usually a hectic time for incomings and outgoings.
It’s been claimed that Chelsea plan to sell several players this summer, including the likes of Kepa Arrizabalaga and Ben Chilwell, to raise transfer funds.

Chelsea are convinced they’ll sign Marc Guehi this summer
According to GiveMeSport, Chelsea plan to prioritise a move to sign Crystal Palace and England defender Marc Guehi in the summer.
It is explained that ‘influential figures’ at Chelsea are ‘adamant’ that they’re likely to sign the 24-year-old star. Apparently, they feel that Guehi still has an attachment to the club after previously coming through the Blues academy, so there is confidence he’ll want to return to Stamford Bridge.
The report adds that Enzo Maresca’s side are confident they can get a deal over the line despite facing the biggest interest from Newcastle United for his signature.
In addition, Guehi could be included in the homegrown quota at Chelsea, and the feeling is he could make a positive impact immediately.
Chelsea won’t be signing Bournemouth’s Dean Huijsen because their priority has shifted towards Guehi to improve the backline.
In Guehi, the Blues would be signing a talented young centre-half with plenty of experience under his belt already.

What Joe Cole previously said about Marc Guehi
Former Chelsea star Joe Cole waxed lyrical about Palace star Guehi earlier in the season.
Back in October 2024, Cole told TNT Sport: “He is so assured, he is so calm. If you look at him, he is never ruffled. I think he is at a stage where he has cut out a lot of his mistakes already, so he is getting better and better. He is a leader. He is the captain of the side. He is a top, top player… I think he is top, top-drawer.”
If Chelsea can get Guehi through the entrance doors this summer, we think it could be a great piece of business.
The fact that Chelsea are ‘determined’ to sign Guehi makes us confident a deal may happen.
