Journalist Charles Watts has claimed that Chelsea’s Jorginho has been given permission to travel to Arsenal to finalise his transfer.
The Italy international last night emerged as a shock candidate to reinforce the midfield options for the table-topping Gunners.
Mikel Arteta’s side seem to have given up on the hopes of signing Moises Caicedo this month, a player the Blues were also linked with.

Brighton’s unwillingness to negotiate has seemed to put both sides in a position where they are looking elsewhere.
This has turned Arsenal’s attention to Jorginho, who is out of contract at Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.
Jorginho travelling to Arsenal
It has today been claimed that they are getting closer to securing the transfer, with Watts now stating that he is on his way to the Emirates to finalise proceedings.
He said: “Arsenal closing in on agreement for Jorginho. Understand he has been given permission to travel to Arsenal this morning to finalise his move while the two clubs put the finishing touches on the deal.

“Not signed yet, but looking increasingly like it will happen.”
The deal may still hit a roadblock if Chelsea fail to get the transfer of Enzo Fernandez over the line.
The Blues are locked in fierce negotiations with Benfica, and surely can’t afford to let someone with Jorginho’s experience go if they don’t land their number one target.
