Reports have claimed that Arsenal are getting closer to signing Chelsea’s Jorginho today.
According to The Athletic, the deal may well depend on if the Blues are successful in their pursuit of Enzo Fernandez.
The Italy international last night emerged as a shock candidate to join the league leaders and bolster their options in midfield.

The news comes as it appears that they are set to miss out on the desired January transfer window target of Brighton’s Moises Caicedo.
The Blues were also keen on bringing in the Ecuador international this month, and the player was pushing on social media for a move away.
Jorginho close to Arsenal move
However, their resistance to negotiate has seemed to put both sides off, leaving Arsenal scrambling for other options.
The Athletic have claimed their most likely addition today will be Jorginho, however the deal may rely on other business involving Chelsea.

They are currently in negotiations with Benfica over a potential deal to sign Fernandez, with the money discussed being a British transfer record.
So far though, there has been no indication that club president Rui Costa will accept Chelsea’s terms.
With Jorginho out of contract at the end of the season, and likely not wishing to extend his stay, getting some money for the player this month could be a massive bonus for the Blues.
