Chelsea are reportedly close to allowing their 22-year-old player to leave the club.

It’s been another busy summer transfer window at Stamford Bridge, which has included plenty of incomings and outgoings. Let’s hope Blues head coach Enzo Maresca is satisfied with his squad by the time the window closes on 30 August.

It certainly feels like more individuals may need to leave to make it a manageable squad. The statement from Raheem Sterling’s camp after his omission from the matchday squad against Manchester City on Sunday proves not all is well.

Ipswich Town agree to sign Armando Broja

According to The Athletic, Ipswich Town have agreed a deal to sign Chelsea’s Armando Broja on a season-long loan.

It is explained that the two Premier League sides are still in talks over an obligation to buy clause, with Chelsea wanting that fee to be worth around £30m.

The report says that the 22-year-old striker is undergoing his medical at Portman Road ahead of the proposed transfer.

In addition, East Anglian Daily Times reports that Broja is close to joining Ipswich. In fact, a deal may even be confirmed on Wednesday.

Is it the right decision to let Armando Broja go?

Unfortunately, Broja’s career has taken a significant dip since a long-term injury. While it doesn’t look like he’s good enough to play for Chelsea right now, the youngster’s still got plenty of time to get back on track and to fulfil his huge potential.

On paper, Ipswich does look like quite a good fit for him. The centre-forward just needs to get back to playing regular top-flight football, something he wouldn’t get in the current Chelsea squad.

If Broja can get back to his sharpest, he’d definitely boost Ipswich’s chances of staying in the top division. Broja is someone that Frank Lampard once called “very talented” back in 2022, as quoted by Metro Sport.

As for Chelsea, many fans will agree that they could do with a high-profile striker joining before the window shuts to compete with Nicolas Jackson.
