Real Madrid are now asking Kai Havertz to help make their life easier as the Spanish giants attempt to sign the German from Chelsea.
That is according to SPORT in Spain.
So, what are Real Madrid asking Kai Havertz to do at Chelsea? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
Well, the Spanish news outlet believe Real Madrid have baulked at Chelsea’s €60m (£52m) asking price.
As a result, Los Blancos have asked Havertz to push his own exit from Stamford Bridge, which would weaken Chelsea’s negotiating stance and ultimately bring the transfer fee down.

SPORT mention that Real Madrid have previously adopted this same tactic – and successfully at that – when signing Gareth Bale, Luka Modric and Mateo Kovacic.
For those hoping to see Havertz stay at Chelsea, there is some consolation – SPORT add that Real Madrid tried it again when attempting to sign Franck Ribery from Bayern Munich, although the German giants refused to be bullied.
Havertz appears to have done what Real Madrid want
According to the Guardian, Havertz has informed Chelsea that he wants to leave Stamford Bridge and experience a new challenge elsewhere.
Therefore, the Germany international seems to be on the same page as Real Madrid.
Real Madrid believe £52m is too steep for a player with only 24 months remaining on his contract.
Havertz would be available for a lot less in 2024, so the chances of Real Madrid simply walking away from negotiations and waiting until then cannot be ruled out, if Chelsea do not lower the asking price.
£52m is also a lot to spend on someone who scored just seven goals in 35 Premier League appearances during the 2022/23 campaign.
Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as it remains to be seen how Chelsea respond to Havertz’s transfer request.
