Chelsea are growing in confidence over a move to sign Michael Olise – with Crystal Palace now starting to accept the fact he could leave.

That is according to Football London.

So, what is the latest on Michael Olise and Chelsea? Let’s take a look…

What’s the story?

Well – according to the Evening Standard – Chelsea are close to agreeing personal terms with the Crystal Palace No.7 and hope to wrap up a deal for £45m.

Now – however – Football London have provided fresher details.

It is said that Olise wants to leave Selhurst Park this summer, and Crystal Palace are starting to feel resigned about losing him with Manchester City also interested.

Football London add that Chelsea have been in talks with the 21-year-old’s entourage in recent days, and his personal terms are not expected to be a problem for the Blues.

Olise, who Gary Lineker once called a “very, very gifted” player, currently earns £45,000-a-week at Crystal Palace.

Football London also mention that Chelsea are in no rush to complete a deal for the France Under-21 international, as he remains sidelined with a hamstring injury suffered in June.

Chelsea have assets who can help Olise deal go through

Football London mention that negotiating with Crystal Palace will be quite tough.

However, Chelsea have a few secret weapons they can use to help talks run smoothly.

Firstly – according to Ed Aarons of the Guardian – Crystal Palace hold an interest in signing Callum Hudson-Odoi, someone Chelsea are open to selling this summer.

The England international could be used as a makeweight in negotiations with the south Londoners, while Lewis Hall is also of interest to Roy Hodgson’s side.

Therefore, if Chelsea offer Hudson-Odoi to Crystal Palace on a permanent basis, and also agree to loan Hall to the Eagles, it could help give the Blues the edge over Manchester City in the battle to sign Olise.
