Tottenham are worried about competition from Chelsea in this summer’s transfer race to sign Juventus star Dusan Vlahovic.

That is according to journalist Rudy Galetti.

Galetti has explained on Twitter that Spurs are now prepared to step up their interest in Dusan Vlahovic.

It is understood that they’re anticipating competition for the 23-year-old’s signature, especially from rivals Chelsea.

Apparently, Vlahovic could be set to leave Turin in this window. Juventus are demanding €80million (£68million) for him, though.

So, where will the left-footed striker be playing his football next season?

The Spurs interest comes at a time when Harry Kane is linked in the transfer rumour mill with Bayern Munich, so their need for a No 9 could be massive this summer.

However, Chelsea’s long-standing problem in the striker position continues to hang over them.

Mauricio Pochettino is currently going into next season with exciting youngsters Nicolas Jackson and Armando Broja as the first-team centre-forwards. You could strongly argue he needs another option with more experience to lead the line.

Gazzetta dello Sport has claimed this month that Chelsea are very serious about signing Vlahovic and have held regular discussions with Juventus about a possible deal.

So, will the Spurs movement spark Chelsea into new life?

Vlahovic has a strong record of 61 goals in 140 Serie A appearances, enjoying his time in Italy with both Juventus and previously Fiorentina.

The Serbian frontman has a lethal left foot and lots of strings to his bow, so we would fully support Chelsea ramping up their own interest.
