West Ham are now feeling pessimistic about signing Conor Gallagher from Chelsea – mainly due to his admiration for Mauricio Pochettino.
That is according to the Daily Mail.
So, what is the latest on Conor Gallagher at Chelsea? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
Well, the England international was recently the subject of a £40m bid from West Ham.
However – according to Fabrizio Romano – Chelsea rejected the bid for Gallagher after speaking to Pochettino, with a £50m asking price now set.
Tottenham and Newcastle are also keen to sign the 23-year-old along with West Ham.
However – as mentioned by the Daily Mail – there is a growing realisation among the Premier League trio that Gallagher does not want to leave Stamford Bridge, largely due to how much he enjoys life under Pochettino.

The Chelsea No.23 is said to be keen on staying at Chelsea to fight for his place under the Argentine, having scored two goals in two pre-season games so far in the United States.
Gallagher has two years left on his contract at Chelsea, but – according to the Evening Standard – is yet to be offered an extension.
Conor Gallagher can make it at Chelsea
A lot of fans – both Chelsea fans and also rival supporters – mocked Gallagher at times last season for his poor performances.
However, it must be noted that hardly anybody at Chelsea played well last term, due to the chaotic environment created by Todd Boehly, who hired three different managers throughout the campaign.

Under an experienced, likeable coach in Pochettino, who places a huge emphasis on pressing – which is arguably Gallagher’s best trait – we would expect to see the midfielder shine next season.
Hopefully, Gallagher is allowed to stay and fight for his place, as there is a potential star of the Premier League just waiting to emerge.
