Leicester City are optimistic they’ll sign Chelsea’s Cesare Casadei on loan by the end of Tuesday.
That is according to journalist John Percy.
Cesare Casadei, who’s just 20, has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge during this summer transfer window.
The young midfielder featured in Mauricio Pochettino’s squad during the pre-season tour, but he could be heading for his new temporary home today.

Percy, who’s a journalist for The Telegraph, has reported on his own social media that Casadei is on the verge of dropping down to the Championship with Leicester.
He’s added that the Foxes are confident the 20-year-old will sign in the next 24 hours.
“Leicester City are close to completing the signing of Chelsea midfielder Cesare Casadei on loan for the season. Deal in final stages this evening and growing optimism that all will be sorted by Tuesday,” Percy wrote on Twitter.

Casadei joined the Blues a year ago from Inter Milan in a £12million deal (Guardian), but he’s still waiting to make a competitive first-team debut for the club.
His 2022/23 campaign was split between time with Chelsea’s Under-21s side, plus a stint in the Championship with Reading.
In our view, this potential loan move to the King Power Stadium with a new-look Leicester could be fantastic for his development.
The goalscoring midfielder looks strong enough and good enough to compete at first-team level, so a full season in Leicester colours could push him much closer to the Chelsea squad this time next year.
The Athletic claimed earlier this summer that Casadei has already impressed those at Chelsea with how quickly he settled in west London. A fast start at Leicester will be crucial, too. It sounds like he may be signed well in time for the weekend’s Championship fixture against Cardiff City
