Club tell Chelsea that Pochettino can have £67,000-a-week star if they hand over two players

Inter Milan have now told Chelsea they would be willing to sell Andre Onana – if Mauricio Pochettino gives up two players in exchange.

That is according to La Repubblica in Italy.

So, who are the two players Inter Milan want from Chelsea in exchange for Andre Onana? Let’s take a look…

What’s the story?

Well, the Italian news outlet believe Inter Milan have asked to have Kalidou Koulibaly on a permanent basis – and for Romelu Lukaku to have his loan extended by another season – in exchange for Onana.

Santi Aouna of Foot Mercato has revealed that Pochettino is prioritising a move for the Cameroon international, and is willing to offer Edouard Mendy – as well as some cash – to bring the glovesman to Stamford Bridge.

However, it seems Inter Milan are not interested in the Senegal international, but would rather have his fellow countryman as well as Lukaku.

That is £130.5m worth of talent – Koulibaly cost £33m whereas Chelsea paid £97.5m for the Belgium international.

However, Pochettino could be willing to accept Inter Milan’s demands, as the Argentine seems fixated on bringing a new goalkeeper to Stamford Bridge amid doubts over Mendy and Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Chelsea have alternative option to Onana

If Todd Boehly decides that Inter Milan are being unreasonable by asking for Koulibaly and Lukaku, then he could threaten to walk away from the £67,000-a-week Onana and focus on Mike Maignan instead.

A separate story from La Repubblica stated that Chelsea have made a bid for the France international, and he is willing to leave after AC Milan bizarrely sacked Paolo Maldini from his role as Director of Football.

Therefore – by the sounds of it – Chelsea are keeping plenty of irons in the fire as they strive not to put all of their eggs in one basket.
