Massimiliano Allegri has been speaking about transfers – and it seems Romelu Lukaku will not be leaving Chelsea for Juventus anymore.

The Italian shared the comments with Sky Italia after Juventus drew 0-0 against Atalanta.

So, what did Massimiliano Allegri hint about Romelu Lukaku? Let’s take a look…

What’s the story?

Well – according to Tutto Mercato Web – Allegri was waiting for the Belgian in Turin.

Chelsea and Juventus have been in talks about a deal involving Lukaku for weeks now, with Dusan Vlahovic also potentially moving to west London in the opposite direction.

As detailed by Calcio Mercato, negotiations seemed to be progressing as a deal edged closer, with Lukaku valued at £34m by Chelsea in discussions.

However, the move was plunged into uncertainty when Juventus fans stormed the pitch at the Allianz Arena to demand that Lukaku was not signed, while the club’s ultras also produced an unwelcoming banner.

Now, Allegri has strongly hinted that talks have completely collapsed, as the 56-year-old told Sky Italia that he doesn’t expect Juventus to make any more signings this summer.

The Juventus boss said: “I doubt any new players will arrive, but the club is vigilant. I don’t know what will happen.”

In our view, that strongly suggests Lukaku won’t be joining Juventus anymore.

Where Chelsea could send Lukaku

If Juventus really have pulled the plug on negotiations, there are not many destinations for the 30-year-old.

Saudi Arabia is one option, although the Belgium international does not want to move there – he supposedly sees himself as one of the best strikers in Europe, and plans to continue playing in the best leagues.

Interestingly – according to Gazzetta dello Sport – Tottenham could make a move for Lukaku after losing Harry Kane to Bayern Munich, although that would be a truly surprising development given the rivalry between Chelsea and Spurs.

Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as Mauricio Pochettino attempts to offload the Belgian before deadline day.
