Mauricio Pochettino concluded his first transfer window as the Chelsea manager with another signing while granting a few outgoings from Stamford Bridge on deadline day.
The west London club did not dip a toe in the market but swam in the deep end all summer. Clearlake Capital and Todd Boehly continued their tenure as Chelsea’s owners by financing a plethora of transfers. Pochettino now has a glut of stars at his disposal for the 2023/24 term.
Chelsea have remoulded their frontline with the signings of Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson. While Axel Disasi and Robert Sanchez have revived the Blues’ foundations. Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia also added fresh impetus to the club’s engine room, but at a price.
Caicedo could end up costing Chelsea a British record £115m fee after joining from Brighton & Hove Albion for an initial £100m. But selling Kalidou Koulibaly, Kai Havertz, Mason Mount, Christian Pulisic, Mateo Kovacic and more has seen the Blues generate considerable income.
Pochettino now has the inconvenient task of trying to fit all of Chelsea’s signings into their XI at Stamford Bridge. But the extra deadline day outgoings from Cobham will help the Chelsea boss juggle his signings. So, with that in mind, here are all of the Blues’ deadline day deals…
