Chelsea are not currently in discussions to sign Sporting Lisbon defender Ousmane Diomande.
Chelsea are thought to be interested in Ousmane Diomande, with the Evening Standard claiming last month that the club had made contact with Sporting over a potential £69m deal.
However, according to Fabrizio Romano, the Blues are yet to enter negotiations for the 20-year-old. In his column on Substack, the transfer guru said “there are no talks” going on between Chelsea and Sporting.
While that may be the case, journalist Ben Jacobs still thinks Diomande will be easier to land than Nice’s Jean-Clair Todibo.
All these links come amid doubts surrounding Thiago Silva’s future at Stamford Bridge. His contract is set to expire at the end of the season.

Chelsea not in talks to sign Ousmane Diomande
Chelsea may not be holding discussions to sign Diomande yet, but that could easily change.
The transfer window only opened yesterday, so the Blues have time. They may still be deciding what to do with Silva.
If they are and then quickly come to the conclusion that it is best for him to move on at the end of the campaign, perhaps they will then make a swoop for Diomande.
Should the above happen but Chelsea fail to land Diomande, there is always Todibo. But honestly, the club may be able to survive without the addition of a new central defender.
If Silva leaves, Mauricio Pochettino will still have Axel Disasi, Benoit Badiashile, Levi Colwill and Wesley Fofana. The Argentine just needs to keep them all fit. Do that, and the Blues will probably not be in a position where they have to buy a new centre-half.
Of course, keeping all of those players fit, with Fofana having really had a tough time with injuries since arriving at Chelsea, is easier said than done.
