Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher seems to have a huge admirer at another Premier League club.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano, who was writing in a recent column for CaughtOffside, has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou is a “big fan of the player”.

He has also reported that Chelsea could be open to selling Conor Gallagher if they receive the right offer for him.

The 23-year-old has been a key player for Mauricio Pochettino this season, starting 16 games in the Premier League.

However, his contract expires in 2025, while Chelsea have spent so much money on new signings in the last few transfer windows.

Selling Gallagher in January or the summer would help them to make some money back.

Why is Ange Postecoglou a big fan of Conor Gallagher?

Honestly, Gallagher is probably a player who most managers watch and appreciate. The Englishman is such a hard-working midfielder.

According to WhoScored, he is making 1.5 interceptions per game this season, which is the highest average in Chelsea’s squad.

Gallagher also ranks above every player at Stamford Bridge for tackles per game bar Marc Cucurella, averaging 2.8. This is someone who does everything he can to win the ball back.

The above alone is just one reason why the Blues should probably keep hold of the England international. And with him coming through the club’s academy, supporters will be desperate for their midfielder to remain in west London.

Unfortunately for them, though, it does look like Gallagher could depart, with a move to London rivals Tottenham seeming like a real possibility.

There is still time for Gallagher to sign a new contract, while there is no reason why Chelsea cannot sell other players to generate money. However, if those things do not happen, then Gallagher is going to leave Stamford Bridge.
