Chelsea midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka was linked with a move away from the club during the summer.

With the transfer window in Turkey still open, Carney Chukwuemeka could actually still leave Stamford Bridge.

It has been claimed that Galatasaray are interested in signing Chukwuemeka, who would have to join the Turkish club by Friday evening.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has now shared where exactly Chelsea stand with their youngster.

Chelsea’s position on Carney Chukwuemeka

Romano is not sure about the Chukwuemeka to Galatasaray links, but the Italian journalist is aware of Chelsea’s stance on the 20-year-old.

According to Romano, Chelsea do not want to loan out Chukwuemeka and have only ever been interested in a sale.

Speaking to CaughtOffside, he said: “Despite links, I’m not aware of concrete talks with Galatasaray over Chukwuemeka so far.

“Chelsea always considered Carney only available on a permanent deal, not on loan… so the only way would be to change Chelsea management’s mind, but this hasn’t happened so far.”

Chukwuemeka could be given a chance at Chelsea if he does not go on to join Galatasaray.

Loan move to Galatasaray would not be bad for Carney Chukwuemeka

Chelsea seem like they would be reluctant to let Chukwuemeka join Galatasaray on loan, but it could be a good move for the England U20 international.

There, Chukwuemeka should get more game time and he will also have the opportunity to play in the Europa League.

Galatasaray have some established players as well, including Hakim Ziyech, Dries Mertens and a certain Victor Osimhen.

The Turkish league is not the strongest division, so Chukwuemeka will not want to spend too much time there at this stage of his career, which is why a loan move could be the way to go. Unfortunately for him, though, Chelsea do not appear to be too keen on that idea.

As things stand, the likelihood is that Chukwuemeka will remain part of Enzo Maresca‘s squad.

Chelsea goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli has described Chukwuemeka’s touch as “unbelievable”, but the former Aston Villa player may not get too many opportunities to show that this season.

His potential may never be fulfilled at Stamford Bridge given all of the talent there.
