There’s a player in Chelsea’s first-team group that is now reportedly weighing up his future amid interest from overseas clubs.
When you look at the size of the current Chelsea squad, it’s alarming to see how big it is. Hopefully, the Blues are able to offload plenty of individuals before the summer transfer window shuts, whether that’s on loan or through sales.
In terms of the heart of defence, there’s a number of high-profile centre-backs all competing for a starting position under Enzo Maresca.
It’s interesting that during pre-season Maresca spoke openly about Chelsea’s defensive problems, as quoted by Football.London. His team’s backline will be put to the test straight away when they kick off their Premier League season on Sunday at home to reigning champions Manchester City.

Axel Disasi considering Chelsea future
According to The Daily Mail, Chelsea defender Axel Disasi is now considering his future at Stamford Bridge.
It is explained that the 26-year-old player is attracting interest from clubs in France and Italy.
Disasi, who cost Chelsea £38.8m (Sky Sports) last summer from Monaco, had a decent debut season in English football last year. He was a key starter for the Blues by making 44 appearances across all competitions.
However, the French central defender is already linked with a potential exit just one year later.
Competition for Axel Disasi
If Disasi can find his best form and cut out the mistakes, he’s a quality central defender. He’s got a brilliant attitude with his aggression and commitment, too.
Gary Lineker called Disasi “fantastic” last season on The Rest Is Football after one individual performance.
However, it looks like he’s got his work cut out to be in Chelsea’s best starting line-up when everyone’s fit and available. He currently has competition at centre-half from teammates Levi Colwill, Wesley Fofana, Benoit Badiashile and Tosin Adarabioyo.
