N’Golo Kante recently spoke out about his love for the Blues, and now he’ll have someone to talk about Chelsea with over in Turkey.

Following his 2023 departure from Chelsea, N’Golo Kante spent two productive years in Saudi Arabia with Al-Ittihad, winning league and cup honors before aiming for a return to Europe.

In February, the Frenchman secured a move to Turkish giants Fenerbahce. While many fans eagerly anticipated Kante linking up with Jose Mourinho in Istanbul, the reunion never actually materialised.

But, it worked for Kante, as his dreams of playing in the 2026 World Cup have been achieved.

Former Chelsea defender Nathan Ake has been announced as a Fenerbahce player

Fenerbahce released a statement confirming the signing of Nathan Ake, who will join from Manchester City.

‘Our club has reached an agreement with Nathan Ake, a player of the Netherlands National Team, and has signed a contract with the footballer. Our player, who wore the jersey in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, will join our team in the Austria camp following the permission process.’

Nathan Ake’s Chelsea story was a difficult one

Nathan Ake joined Chelsea’s youth academy from Feyenoord in 2011 and was one of the most highly rated prospects at the time. The Dutch defender then went on to make his senior first-team debut in December 2012 at age 17 under Rafael Benitez.

Despite his versatility to play at centre-back, left-back, or in midfield, he was trying to break through at a time when John Terry, Gary Cahill and David Luiz were at Stamford Bridge.

He made 17 senior appearances across all competitions for Chelsea, contributing to the club’s 2012–13 Europa League campaign and the 2014–15 League Cup win, before multiple loans eventually led to a permanent £20 million transfer to Bournemouth in 2017.

And there were even rumours of Ake wanting to return to Chelsea this summer, but that never materialised.
