It’s going to be very interesting to see what happens with Chelsea’s Jadon Sancho in the summer transfer window.
Many fans were surprised when Jadon Sancho, 24, joined Chelsea from Manchester United on a season-long loan for this campaign. Interestingly, the deal also included an obligation to buy clause worth around £25m (ESPN).
So far this season, the English winger has struggled to find any real consistency in his game at Stamford Bridge.

| Conference Legue | 3 | 0 | 2 |

It’s been claimed in recent reports that Chelsea can tear up their agreement to buy Sancho this summer from Man Utd if they pay a ‘significant’ penalty.

Chelsea considering selling Jadon Sancho immediately in the summer
On his Substack, journalist Simon Phillips claims he’s been told by one source that Chelsea are not planning to pay the fee to break the obligation to sign Sancho.
He adds that the source says the Blues plan to keep Sancho with a view to selling him straight away in the summer.
Apparently, Chelsea believe they can make a profit on his £25m transfer fee because his stocks are high in Germany, where he previously had a great few years with Borussia Dortmund. Also, Chelsea are already talking to interested buyers in Sancho and unnamed Spanish clubs are keen.
Chelsea believe Sancho will join permanently once his loan deal expires at the end of the season, so let’s wait and see if he’s part of Enzo Maresca’s plans in the 2025/26 campaign.

Should Jadon Sancho be in Chelsea’s squad next season?
Unless the English winger finishes this year strongly, we’re not too keen on the idea of him being in Chelsea’s first team next season.
Speaking earlier in March, Sancho criticised his own form by claiming that he can do so much better as an attacking threat. His record of two goals in 28 Blues appearances is really poor, especially in a team that was free-flowing earlier in the season.
The worrying factor is that Sancho has completely wasted a great opportunity to nail down a spot in the best XI, playing in the previous 18 consecutive Premier League matches. He’s kept himself fit while rival teammates have been unavailable for various reasons, but he’s done very little to convince everyone he’s the answer.
It’s a vital few months coming up for numerous Blues stars to finish the season strongly.
If Sancho plays a big role in getting Champions League qualification and winning the Conference League, perhaps he can influence Chelsea’s potential plans to sell him. It would be great if he could settle in one place after a few turbulent years.
