One of Chelsea’s top rivals in the Premier League are enjoying a remarkable deadline day, while the Blues look set to stick with what they have for the rest of the season.
Liverpool agreed a deal to sign Alexander Isak late last night, and have today confirmed one to bring in Marc Guehi to bolster their defensive options.
These deals will take their total spending for the summer to above what the Blues spent during Todd Boehly’s first window at the helm.
Chelsea were interested in Guehi this summer, as well as in previous transfer windows, with it looking clear that he was set to leave Crystal Palace at some point over the next 12 months.

Chelsea to receive £7m if Marc Guehi joins Liverpool
The Blues will have a better knowledge than most of the character of the player, given the fact that he made the move to Selhurst Park from Chelsea.
Despite not being the ones who look set to sign Guehi, the Blues would be entitled to a portion of the money as a result of a sell-on clause instilled when he departed.
According to a BBC Sport report from June, Chelsea hold a 20% sell-on clause on Guehi. If the fee from Liverpool is as reported at £35m, Chelsea will be receiving £7m as a result.
The money can be counted towards the tremendous amount the Blues have already made during the summer transfer window, which is set to be added to on deadline day.

Chelsea completing deadline day sales
A number of youngsters have moved away from Chelsea on loan in the final hours of the transfer window. Omari Kellyman and Jimmy-Jay Morgan have moved to Cardiff and Peterborough respectively.
However, the big-money sale of the day looks set to be Nicolas Jackson, who is poised to finally get his requested move to Bayern Munich.
Chelsea had recalled the Senegal international from his expected loan after an injury to Liam Delap, however they now look confident to move forward with Marc Guiu, after he also returned from Sunderland.
