Journalist Simon Johnson has claimed on ‘The Athletic Football Podcast’ that there is a massive chance Mason Mount leaves the club very soon.
The England international is currently in limbo over his contract at his boyhood club.
It seemed unimaginable just 12 months ago that the 24-year-old would be even in the conversation for leaving Chelsea. He was one of the first names on the teamsheet for Frank Lampard and Thomas Tuchel.

Even since Graham Potter has been in charge, Mount has played an important role at Stamford Bridge.
The current boss has still been full of praise for the Englishman, describing him as ‘fantastic’ earlier this season.
However, he has recently been dropped from the starting side, notably for the massive Champions League game against Borussia Dortmund.
Big chance Mount leaves Chelsea
With there being just over 12 months left on his Chelsea contract, there is a requirement for the side to sort out his future one way or another.
It was reported yesterday that talks are currently on hold until the end of the season, in an attempt for everyone involved to focus on matters on the pitch.
However, Johnson has claimed that there is a massive chance things don’t get resolved.

He said: “I’d be very concerned if I was a Chelsea fan that Mason Mount won’t be a Chelsea player next season, length of contract is a big issue, the owners want players on 6, 7, 8 year deals, Mount does not want to stay that long”
Chelsea fans will be hopeful that Mount recovers some form towards the end of the season.
With the sides interested in a move all rivals to the Blues, there is a big chance that letting him go will see the club strengthening one of these sides.
