Journalist Rudy Galetti has claimed that Chelsea have now opened talks with Juventus over potentially signing Dusan Vlahovic this summer.

He took to Twitter to state that new manager Mauricio Pochettino is of the belief that the Serbian is the perfect player for his side.

Reports have linked Vlahovic with a move to the Premier League for a number of years now, with Chelsea already being one of the clubs linked with a move.

However, these claims have reached another level this summer as the hunt for a more recognised starting striker continues.

They have already brought in Nicolas Jackson from Villarreal, although there is not an expectation that he will be the starting figure up front straight away at Stamford Bridge.

There is also Christopher Nkunku who could play there, although this is likely to not bring the best out of the Frenchman.

Pochettino wants Vlahovic

Now, Galetti has claimed that the manager believes Vlahovic is a player that could be perfect if he is brought in to the club ahead of next season.

He said: “Everything confirmed since mid-June: Chelsea are interested in Vlahovic and opened talks with Juventus.

“The club already set his price tag: ~€80m to let him go. Discussions will go ahead in the next days. Pochettino considers Dusan the ideal striker.”

It is likely the Blues will not make any move for a striker again this summer until they sort out the dead wood they have in the position currently in the squad.

This includes Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, although attention is more on where Romelu Lukaku ends up after making it clear that he doesn’t want to return to Chelsea ahead of next season.
