Romelu Lukaku has been messaging Inter Milan on WhatsApp as he continue to push for an exit from Chelsea.

That is according to Calcio Mercato.

So, what is the latest on Romelu Lukaku at Chelsea? Let’s take a look…

What’s the story?

Well, the Belgian looked all set to return to Inter Milan on a permanent basis this summer, although he angered those at the San Siro by also speaking to AC Milan and Juventus.

Now, Lukaku appears to be in limbo – the only offer he has on the table is from Saudi Arabia, although he is not too keen on the idea.

As a result, the 30-year-old is trying to work his way back into Inter Milan’s good books.

Calciomercato believe Lukaku – who Ashley Young once called “incredible” – has been sending the Italian giants daily fitness updates on WhatsApp as he tries to keep himself in their thinking.

However, Inter Milan have told the Antwerp-born striker to stop messaging them, as they are content with the arrival of Marcus Thuram in the attacking department, and are now looking at replacements for Andre Onana, who recently left for Manchester United.

PSG could offer Lukaku a lifeline

There is one other potential destination for Lukaku this summer if those in Saudi Arabia cannot convince him – Paris.

A story from Corriere dello Sport claimed that PSG are looking at the Belgian, amid doubts over the future of Kylian Mbappe.

The France international has just been left out of PSG’s pre-season tour as those at the Parc des Princes believe he has an agreement to join Real Madrid on a free transfer.

If Mbappe does leave, he will need replacing, and Lukaku has surprisingly emerged as a potential option – despite being nowhere near as good as the Frenchman.

Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as Chelsea desperately want to offload Lukaku – Mauricio Pochettino even bluntly admitted that the Belgium international is unlikely to get another chance in west London.
