Christopher Nkunku hasn’t hit dizzy heights during two years as a Chelsea player, and transfer speculation now points towards him leaving Stamford Bridge in the current summer transfer window.
It feels as though French attacker Christopher Nkunku, 27, has only shown glimpses of his best in Chelsea colours.
Even though he’s currently playing for the Blues at the Club World Cup tournament, he’s linked with an imminent exit.
| Appearances | Goals | Assists |
| 61 | 18 | 5 |
Nkunku is considered surplus to requirements at Chelsea, so they could be prepared to sell him for around £35m.
Interestingly, Italian giants Inter Milan are one of the latest teams to be linked with the versatile forward. Inter are now interested in signing Nkunku after shortlisting him as a potential target.

Inter Milan fans don’t like the idea of signing Christopher Nkunku
Inter Milan fans on social media have reacted extremely negatively to rumours that they want to sign Chelsea’s Nkunku this summer.
In particular, Inter supporters on X have pointed towards the player’s injury record as a major concern.
One fan wrote: “During the three last seasons Nkunku has missed more than 70 games due to injuries. No wonder he’s for sale…”
“Good player, but he might be a second [Pitor] Zielinski in the squad. Too many injuries,” another said.
One supporter posted: “He’s injury prone. Chelsea chewed him up.”
“Availability is EVERYTHING! Talent is important, but if you´re injured half the time, that does not matter. For that reason, I hope Inter look elsewhere,” another claimed.

Christopher Nkunku’s injury record
We’ve taken a look at Nkunku’s injury record across the last five seasons, where he’s certainly missed a significant amount of matches.
| Season | Games missed |
| 2024/25 | 6 |
| 2023/24 | 48 |
| 2022/23 | 22 |
| 2021/22 | 0 |
| 2020/21 | 7 |
However, as you can see above, the 2024/25 campaign has been a fairly decent one for him. The main reason he’s been out of the side has been down to selection rather than injury problems.
Tony Cascarino is shocked at Nkunku’s struggles at Chelsea because he was a big success at RB Leipzig in Germany.
If he can stay fit, we feel Nkunku could succeed at the San Siro with Inter, especially as he’s entering his prime years as a footballer. Of course, it would be a risk for any buying club.
