Chelsea midfielder Mateo Kovacic could be about to join Manchester City, according to reports.
Mateo Kovacic, 29, has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge ahead of the summer transfer window.
Now, the Blues star may be on the verge of joining a different Premier League club.

Well-respected journalist Simon Phillips claimed on his Substack that Kovacic is “super close” to completing a move to the Etihad Stadium.
He wrote: “I’m told that Mateo Kovacic’s move to Manchester City is now super close to being done.”

90min claimed last week that Chelsea are prepared to do business with Man City for the sale of Kovacic. They added that the Blues are demanding a transfer fee of around £35million, though.
Kovacic may not have had his best time during the 2022/23 season, but it says a lot that treble chasers Man City are in for him. Incidentally, Pep Guardiola’s side will clinch a famous treble if they beat Inter Milan in this weekend’s Champions League final.
Kovacic has proven over numerous years at Stamford Bridge he’s such a classy operator in the centre of the park.
The Croatian midfielder is a great technician that is press resistant and so good on the ball, which is why we can imagine him fitting into Man City’s line-up with ease.
If he’s played his last game for Chelsea, supporters are likely to remember Kovacic in a very positive light. He’s delivered a lot of great individual performances, usually with either Jorginho or N’Golo Kante alongside him in the midfield.
