Tottenham could yet end up moving to sign Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah.
That is according to journalist Dean Jones.
Trevoh Chalobah, who’s yet to play this season due to injury, is linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge.
Journalist Ryan Taylor wrote on X this week that sources are convinced that Chalobah will leave Chelsea in January. The 24-year-old’s rated by the likes of Inter Milan, AC Milan & RB Leipzig.
In addition, TEAMtalk previously reported that £45million-rated Chalobah is liked by Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund.
Trevoh Chalobah future
Dean Jones has said in the last 24 hours that Spurs is still a possible next club for Chalobah.
“I still think Tottenham is definitely a potential destination for him. Tottenham were serious about him in the summer, and we’ve seen that they do need to bulk up their squad,” Jones told GiveMeSport.
“I do think Chalobah, being a centre-back who also has the capability to play in midfield, is one to still look out for. But he is also going to have the potential to go abroad.
“For Trevoh Chalobah, I think that could be a really interesting opportunity if you consider what’s happened recently with Ruben Loftus-Cheek going and testing himself abroad. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if Chalobah were to get similar offers.”
Chelsea to lose another academy graduate
If Chalobah does exit Stamford Bridge in the New Year, he’ll become the latest talented individual from Chelsea’s academy system to permanently leave.
The versatile defender, who can play centre-back or right-back, has proven he can offer a lot to the first-team squad at Stamford Bridge. The transfer rumours suggests he’s not part of the plans moving forward under Mauricio Pochettino, though.
We’re pretty confident that he can go to a league rival and be a success.
Aged 24, with a long contract still to run, we hope the club can recoup a very sizeable transfer fee.
