Journalist Alex Crook has claimed that Chelsea may still authorise a sale for Conor Gallagher this summer.

He told TalkSPORT that they are sticking to their asking price of £50m, which has so far stopped any potential suitors reaching a deal.

Gallagher has been an important member of the Chelsea first team this season. He has started every game so far in the Premier League.

This is in spite of the club having two of the most expensive midfielders in world football in their ranks in the form of Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo.

His place in the team has shown the backing Mauricio Pochettino has for him, and there is likely a resistance from the manager to allow him to leave this summer.

Gallagher one to watch

However, interest in his services has not faded, with Bayern Munich the latest side considering a bid.

Crook has claimed that the saga is one certainly to keep an eye on until the end of the window.

He said: “There is a possibility that Conor Gallagher leaves Chelsea between now and Friday but nothing more than that.

“The asking price which we understand at TalkSPORT to be £50 million has already put off quite a few suitors this summer and I don’t think he’s a player who Pochettino is actively trying to force out the door.

“I find Thomas Tuchel’s approach to this transfer window really intriguing because he’s been after so many Premier League players and there has definitely been a conversation between Bayern and Chelsea and it’s been driven by Tuchel. One to keep an eye on.”

With it being late in the window, it would be unlikely that a deal is struck to see him leave Stamford Bridge.
