Leicester City are reportedly interested in a move for Chelsea’s Ruben Loftus-Cheek this month.
According to journalist Simon Phillips, Leicester have set sights on the 26-year-old Blues midfielder during the current January transfer window.
He claims Graham Potter’s side may be willing to sell him if they can sign a midfield replacement.
“Also, understand that Leicester City are targeting a move for Ruben Loftus-Cheek this window, and Chelsea might be willing to let him go if they can bring in another midfielder,” Phillips has claimed on his Substack.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek to Leicester rumour
It’s interesting to hear now that Leicester are circling for Loftus-Cheek.
The central midfielder was playing regularly for Chelsea during the first half of the season before suffering a knee injury. In fact, he’s played in 20 of the club’s 27 games so far this campaign.
It was great to see him back on the bench during Sunday’s 1-0 Premier League win against Crystal Palace, but is he in the plans for Potter moving forward?
There’s no doubt he offers a lot to the squad with his versatility, something that Chelsea’s head coach loves.
However, the midfield powerhouse has never really kicked on to the kind of heights everyone expected from him.

For Leicester, Loftus-Cheek would actually be a top signing.
He can be a physical force both offensively and defensively when he’s in the mood, so Leicester fans would surely love him.
Simon Phillips reported last month that Loftus-Cheek wants to stay at Stamford Bridge.
With his contract expiring in 2024, Chelsea will soon have a decision to make on the central midfielder’s future.
