Manchester United have reportedly set their sights on a £25m-rated Chelsea player as a potential transfer target.

Premier League rivals Chelsea and Man United have conducted plenty of transfer business over the years, but there’s been varied success.

The likes of Mason Mount, Juan Mata and Romelu Lukaku have played for both English giants in their careers. There’s now speculation that another individual could join that club.

Incidentally, Blues striker Lukaku has agreed a deal to join Napoli, it’s recently been claimed by Gianluca Di Marzio.

Manchester United interested in signing Trevoh Chalobah

GiveMeSport claims that Chelsea’s Trevoh Chalobah is ‘likely’ to leave this summer after being left off the pre-season tour.

It is understood that the Blues want around £25m to sell their defender amid interest from several clubs, including Man United.

The report says that Erik ten Hag’s United side have a ‘genuine interest’ in signing Chalobah. They want another central defender despite already completing a deal for Leny Yoro from Lille in this window. Apparently, United like Chalobah’s versatility and could even play him in a new position at right-back if Aaron Wan-Bissaka goes to West Ham.

GMS further reports that Newcastle United have discussed Chelsea’s Chalobah as a target, plus Fulham are keen.

Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan are named as two more potential suitors for the 25-year-old Blues centre-half.

This would sting for Chelsea fans

If Chalobah does leave Stamford Bridge this summer, as expected, it could really sting for the Chelsea supporters.

The talented centre-back is an academy graduate that came through the youth ranks with the Blues, making 80 senior appearances for the club as well.

If he goes and carves out a successful Premier League career at a rival club, it will be quite frustrating to watch.

Chalobah, who was described as “fantastic” by Frank Lampard last year via Football.London, brings such composure to the heart of defence as a centre-half. Could he actually end up having a future at full-back though?
