Many football insiders within the game are certain that Brighton’s Moises Caicedo is going to end up joining Chelsea this summer.

That is according to well-respected journalist Matt Law.

While speaking on the London Is Blue podcast, Law explained that the general talk from within football is that clubs are not bothered about Moises Caicedo because they feel he’s definitely heading to Stamford Bridge.

They believe that the 21-year-old Premier League star has committed himself to joining Chelsea, so clubs don’t feel he’s a realistic transfer target.

Law claims that Chelsea are taking the “interesting” approach with their attempts to sign Caicedo of regular discussions with Brighton. They’re still trying to establish a final transfer fee rather than firing numerous offers over.

“The interesting thing on Caicedo, the tactics so far has not been to go in with bids rejected, bids rejected, it feels like an ongoing conversation to get to a place they feel like they can do a deal rather than just firing bids,” Law told the London Is Blue podcast.

“There is a lot of talk in football that clubs are not bothered about Caicedo because they feel the player has pretty much committed himself to Chelsea. They have almost ignored it and decided that if he’s going to move, he’s moving to Chelsea.”

Journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed on Twitter this week that Caicedo’s potential transfer to Chelsea is now ‘moving’, but £70million won’t be enough for his signature.
