There’s a feeling from some people at Chelsea that it makes sense to cash in on Conor Gallagher this month.

That is according to new speculation this week.

Conor Gallagher, 23, is turning out to be a very popular name in this January transfer window.

So, what’s the latest with the central midfielder’s future?

Football.London now claims that some members of Chelsea’s hierarchy believe that selling Gallagher may be the logical thing to do. Of course, his sale would generate 100 per cent profit on the balance sheets because he’s an academy graduate.

It is explained that the 23-year-old would prefer to stay at the club, which is a feeling shared by Blues head coach Mauricio Pochettino.

The report mentions that the box-to-box midfielder won’t be short of interested clubs, with Tottenham one side monitoring the situation closely.

HITC Football insider Graeme Bailey, who The Chelsea Chronicle spoke to earlier this week, reported that Gallagher’s Chelsea teammates don’t want him to leave.

This follows The Independent’s claim that Chelsea may sell Gallagher if a team meets their £50m asking price.

Some at Chelsea want to sell Conor Gallagher

Unlike some members on Chelsea’s board, we’re insisting that Gallagher is kept at Stamford Bridge!

We just can’t get onboard with the idea of getting rid of one of our best performers this season, especially someone that loves the club.

Speaking via The Daily Mail recently, Graeme Souness hailed Gallagher for his “tremendous attitude” and great athleticism.

We’re predicting a huge backlash from supporters if the player does end up going.
