Chelsea target Morgan Rogers has joined in with the trend of talking about his future whilst away at the World Cup with England.
The transfer situation between Chelsea and Morgan Rogers has gone quiet in recent times.
Much of the interest is driven by co-director of recruitment Joe Shields, who has admired the 23-year-old since their shared time at Manchester City.
Say Morgan Rogers signs for Chelsea – who are you dropping from the XI to fit him in?
However, the financial hurdles are immense. Following a season where Rogers registered 26 goal contributions across all competitions and broke into the England squad at the World Cup, Aston Villa are demanding a British-record £130 million fee to part with him.
And the pursuit is further complicated by competition from London rivals Arsenal, who have also entered the race and appear to be Rogers’ favoured destination.
Morgan Rogers addresses his future at the World Cup
Like we’ve already seen with Javier Pastore and Marc Cucurella, players have made a habit of talking about their futures whilst away at the World Cup.
And that’s no different for Morgan Rogers, who has shared his current stance on his £130 million price tag and his thinking when it comes to his future.
“I’m not sure if I’m worth that! Of course, it’s nice to obviously hear that from people, but I don’t let the outside noise dictate me. I’m just going to keep focused, keep being me.”

The Cole Palmer factor is Chelsea’s only hope
With pretty much everything going against Chelsea, the Cole Palmer factor represents Chelsea’s trump card in the pursuit of Morgan Rogers.
Having developed together through Manchester City’s academy and England’s youth ranks, the pair maintain a well-documented personal bond. This existing chemistry offers the Blues a unique angle to go at that rivals like Arsenal cannot replicate.
While Villa’s substantial valuation requires careful thought, the prospect of reuniting with Palmer provides an extra incentive for Rogers.
And let’s not forget that Palmer and Rogers even share a celebration together.
