'Music to my ears': Some Chelsea fans react to what they're hearing from their £29m star

Antonio Rudiger has given a response when asked about his Chelsea future – and some Blues fans love what they’re hearing from him.

Rudiger, 28, has been one of the outstanding individuals at Stamford Bridge since Thomas Tuchel took charge as manager in January.

However, the aggressive defender is out of contract at the end of the season.

According to The Mirror, European giants Bayern Munich and Juventus are two clubs waiting in the wings interested in trying to secure his services.

It’s been reported, though, that Chelsea’s representatives are in discussions with the centre-half about trying to secure his long-term future with them.

Rudiger has commented this week when asked about his Blues contract situation:

“My future? I feel good at Chelsea where I am now, so that fits. FC Bayern interest honors me because that shows that I’ve done a few things right recently,” he said

His comments have gone down well with some Chelsea fans.

Rudiger contract needs sorting ASAP

It can take time arranging finer details of a new contract, but Chelsea need to push down the accelerator to get Rudiger to commit his future now.

Each day that passes there is a growing concern that the club could lose of their outstanding players next summer.

The Germany international has been performing like one of the world’s elite centre-backs in 2021, so surely he needs to be rewarded with an improved long-term deal.

He’s mastered the left-sided centre-back position in a back-three and Tuchel relies on him.

Chelsea fans suspect he’s staying

A selection of Blues fans on social media gather Rudiger is staying due to his comments.

The £29million man is currently playing the best football since he joined back in 2017 and would leave a massive hole in the squad if he wasn’t around next season.
