The agent of Barcelona attacker Ousmane Dembele is reportedly holding a “new meeting” this week with the Spanish club about his future, after being linked with a transfer to Chelsea.

Dembele is a Barcelona player that’s actually out of contract at the Camp Nou this summer. Therefore, the French winger will be leaving the La Liga giants at the end of the season unless a new contract is agreed.

According to well-respected journalist Fabrizio Romano, the player’s agent is sitting down with Barcelona officials to discuss a solution.

It is understood he’s received proposals from elsewhere to earn more money next season, so signing a new deal with Barcelona could mean losing out financially. He’s happy with playing under current manager Xavi, though.

Ultimately, the report explains the 24-year-old is yet to decide his future.

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel, who coached Dembele earlier in his career at Borussia Dortmund, has been linked with trying to form a reunion at Stamford Bridge this summer.

It’s previously been reported the Blues are confident of securing a deal to sign the French speedster ahead of next season.

However, the complications of the takeover saga have since hit.

Chelsea are unable to work on potential transfers until club sanctions are lifted, so it’s been a frustrating wait.

A latest report does indicate a decision could be made by the end of this week on who will be the next ownership.

If the Blues can sign players this summer, Dembele is definitely an intriguing target that would add pace, precision and excitement to the forward line. One potential grey area over him is his injury record in the last few seasons, though.
