‘New proposal ready’: Chelsea now preparing a new offer to sign £12m midfielder, they’re still facing competition – Romano

Fabrizio Romano has claimed on Twitter that Chelsea have a new offer ready to submit to sign Cesare Casadei from Inter Milan.

The Blues have raised their interest in the youngster in recent weeks, with him currently yet to make an appearance for Inter’s first team.

He has been prominent for the Nerazzurri’s youth teams, scoring 17 goals in all competitions.

Chelsea have been looking to sign a number of youth prospects this summer, having already secured deals for Gabriel Slonina and Carney Chukwuemeka.

The American has returned to the MLS to finish the season on loan this season, although the former Aston Villa midfielder is admired enough by Thomas Tuchel for him to stay with the first team this season.

Chelsea have new proposal for Casadei

Romano has claimed they are still very much looking to add to the young signings, with them preparing a new deal for Inter Milan. However, he claims that they are still facing competition from Nice over a deal.

He said: “Cesare Casadei deal. Chelsea are pushing to sign the Italian talent with new proposal ready, OGC Nice in the race with possible buy-back clause included in the bid. 

“Inter have made no decision yet as it will depend on the amount of the two proposals.”

Nice’s interest in a deal may appeal more to the Serie A side, with them hinting that they would be willing to include a buy-back clause in a deal. The player may also consider the move to Ligue 1, with him surely likely to face less competition for places than at Stamford Bridge.

With that being said, the Blues signing him would be another example of intelligent purchases made by the owners, who are continuing to show that they have a long-term plan at the club, whilst also making deals to compete in the current day.
