'Not ruling it out': Chelsea may pursue 'fantastic' 20-year-old star, but his name hasn't cropped up yet - journalist

Chelsea could still reportedly target Brighton’s Moises Caicedo, but his name is yet to crop up in transfer conversations at Stamford Bridge.

Caicedo, 20, is an exciting young midfielder that’s thriving in the Premier League with Brighton.

Signed for £4.5million when Graham Potter was Brighton manager, the Ecuador international is a midfield enforcer whose reputation is growing.

Chelsea target Moises Caicedo

Journalist Dean Jones has shared that the Chelsea hierarchy are yet to actually discuss Caicedo.

However, he doesn’t completely rule out Potter raiding his former club to form a reunion with the 20-year-old at Stamford Bridge.

“It’s an obvious link to make with Caicedo and I am not ruling out that it could be one they pursue, but he hasn’t really cropped up in many conversations as far as I have heard,” Jones told GIVEMESPORT.

It’s very interesting that Brighton’s rising star recently admitted no one would be able to turn down a move to a big club like Chelsea.

Chelsea’s new head coach, Potter, now has the opportunity to work with so many top-class midfielders.

If the Blues want to strengthen in that area of the park further down the line, it’ll be interesting to see if Brighton’s star is suggested as a target.

Described as “fantastic” by Potter, Caicdeo has the makings of being a top midfielder.

His stock will continue to rise if he keeps performing in Brighton colours and he’s now got a new manager in Roberto De Zerbi to work with.

You can definitely see why there’s comparisons to N’Golo Kante, who’s going to be an incredibly difficult player for Chelsea to try replace when that day comes.
