Chelsea have now agreed a deal with Al-Ahli which will see Edouard Mendy move to the Saudi Arabian side.
That is according to the Evening Standard, with Fabrizio Romano providing extra details.
So, what are the details involving Edouard Mendy and Chelsea? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
Well, it is said that Chelsea have finally agreed a £16m deal with Al-Ahli for the Senegal international.
Talks have been ongoing for a few weeks now with Todd Boehly also looking to offload other fringe players at Stamford Bridge to the Saudi Pro League.
Chelsea have struck a £17m deal with Al-Hilal for Kalidou Koulibaly, while Hakim Ziyech will join Al-Nassr for £8m.
Mendy is pencilled in for a medical with Al-Ahli on Monday, where he will officially depart Chelsea if he passes his fitness examinations in Saudi Arabia, as stated by Romano.

Chelsea paid £22m to sign the 31-year-old from Rennes in September 2020, meaning the Blues have accepted a £6m loss on their initial investment.
Nevertheless, Chelsea certainly got their money worth – for example, Mendy played a key role in the 2020/21 UEFA Champions League win, which saw him crowned The Best FIFA Men’s Goalkeeper in Europe that year.
Chelsea may only have got a few years with the Senegalese shot-stopper, but fortunately for the Blues, he was right in the midst of his prime during his time in west London.
Chelsea have Mendy replacement lined up
By the sounds of it, Chelsea already know who they want to replace Mendy.
A story from Record in Portugal claimed that Chelsea want to sign Diogo Costa from Porto once Mendy has officially moved to Saudi Arabia.

Another story has since emerged – this time from A Bola – which states that Chelsea are preparing a €75m (£64m) bid for the Portugal international, which the Blues hope can be paid in three instalments.
Be sure to keep an eye on developments from Monday onwards, as Chelsea could start to strongly pursue a new goalkeeper once Mendy’s move to Al-Ahli is made official.
