Emerson Palmieri – who Chelsea sold in 2022 – has now told Declan Rice to stay at West Ham amid interest from Mauricio Pochettino.

The Italy international was caught on camera after West Ham’s UEFA Europa Conference League win over Fiorentina.

So, what did Emerson Palmieri say about Declan Rice? Let’s take a look…

What’s the story?

Well, the 28-year-old was filming himself on Instagram from the top of a bus at West Ham’s trophy parade around east London.

Emerson could be heard joining in with chants from the West Ham fans begging Rice to stay, as thousands serenaded the 24-year-old with cries of “one more year, one more year, Declan Rice” during the celebrations.

You can see the footage on Twitter here.

However, it may be too late for Emerson and West Ham fans to change the England international’s mind.

David Sullivan has already revealed that he promised Rice a move this summer, with the West Ham No.41 keen to leave after rejecting a £200,000-a-week deal to stay.

The 74-year-old West Ham Chairman told talkSPORT: “I think it has to be (Rice’s last game). We promised him he could go. He set his heart on going. You can’t ask for a man who has committed more to us this season.

“In due course, he has to get on and we have to get a replacement – or several replacements. It’s not something we want to happen. We offered him £200,000-a-week 18 months ago. He turned it down.

“It’s cost him £10m to stay at West Ham in that time (in lost wages). He wants to go. You can’t keep a player who doesn’t want to be there.”

How much Declan Rice could cost Chelsea

Well, the Blues smashed the British transfer record in January to sign Enzo Fernandez in a £106.8m deal.

Now – if Pochettino is to sign Rice – Todd Boehly will have to break it again.

A story from The Sun claims that West Ham want to start the bidding for their captain at £110m amid interest from Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United and also Bayern Munich.

That is a huge amount of money – only Philippe Coutinho, Ousmane Dembele, Antoine Griezmann, Joao Felix, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar have moved for sums greater than £110m in football history.

Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as Rice will choose his next destination soon.
