Aurelien Tchouameni and Jules Kounde clearly have a lot in common.

They are both France internationals with huge futures ahead of them.

The pair have already made well over 100 senior appearances, despite neither being over the age of 24.

Sharing the same holiday destination seems to be a theme as well.

With the domestic season now finished, the compatriots jetted off to Miami together to soak up some sunshine and basketball.

But perhaps the biggest current link is that both have been targets of Chelsea in the past 12 months or so.

Bring them to the Blues

Kounde come extremely close to joining the Premier League side last summer, but the deal fell through due to a disagreement in price.

Sevilla’s centre-back is very much on the radar again ahead of the latest transfer market, with Todd Boehly set to make him his first marque signing as owner.

He could cost around £59m (GOAL), just over a quarter of the budget Boehly is apparently willing to provide Thomas Tuchel.

A small obstacle has recently arisen in Kounde’s possible move to South West London.

Aston Villa agreed a deal with Sevilla to sign Diego Carlos, one-half of Julen Lopetegui’s main central defensive partnership.

Losing the other segment would put pressure on Lopetegui’s employers to find suitable replacements.

But thanks to the money they could recuperate from the two sales, this shouldn’t prove too difficult.

Chelsea supporters will be hoping to see Tchouameni follow his fellow countryman to Stamford Bridge, although the likelihood of this is diminishing by the day.

There seems to be a general consensus that the Monaco midfielder will link up with Real Madrid instead, as they look to make up for the disappointment of not getting Kylian Mbappe.

Never fear Blues, alternatives to Tchouameni have been drawn up, including PSV Eindhoven’s Ibrahim Sangare.

Hopefully Kounde can try persuade his mate whilst they shoot some hoops in the States.
