Reports have claimed that Nottingham Forest have decided they don’t want to sign Chelsea full-back Ian Maatsen this summer.
According to the Mail Online, the Blues’ asking price of around £15m has seen them move on to look at other targets in the market.
Despite talks that he is up for sale this summer, Maatsen has been one of the most impressive performers of the pre-season campaign so far.

Mauricio Pochettino has started the Dutchman in all three games so far, however he is yet to feature in his traditional strongest position.
Last night against Newcastle saw him start on the right-hand-side of the attack, despite predominantly being a left-back in his career so far.
Nottingham Forest think Maatsen’s too expensive
This may have been because of the attacking impotence he has shown in the pre-season games so far. He got the match against Wrexham up and running with an impressive first half brace.
The manager has been very vocal in his support for the 21-year-old since he handed him his first appearance of the campaign.
He has now claimed that Maatsen is in his plans for next season, perhaps sending a message to the owners that he hopes he will not be sold this summer.

There will likely have to be at least one departure in the left-back position ahead of next season, with there being four obvious options currently available.
Ben Chilwell looks set to be the obvious first choice, while Marc Cucurella has a point to prove off the back of a tough first campaign with the club.
There is also Lewis Hall, although minutes have been tough for him to come by in the United States so far.
