Mauricio Pochettino has told AC Milan that he will not allow Armando Broja to leave Chelsea right now – however, the Italian giants are persisting with a move.

That is according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

So, what is the latest on Armando Broja and Chelsea? Let’s take a look…

What’s the story?

Well – according to the Evening Standard – the Albania international is part of Mauricio Pochettino’s plans at Chelsea, and the Argentine has no intention of letting the striker depart.

However – as detailed by Gazzetta dello Sport – AC Milan are not taking no for an answer.

The Italian news outlet back up what the Evening Standard are claiming about Pochettino wanting to keep Broja.

Nevertheless, those at the San Siro have earmarked the 21-year-old as a priority to play alongside Olivier Giroud, and are continuing to pursue his services on loan.

Gazzetta dello Sport add that Pochettino has not given West Ham any encouragement over a deal for Broja either, as the South American plans to keep the Chelsea academy graduate – as things stand.

Pochettino is right to want Broja at Chelsea

In our view, Pochettino is right to tell AC Milan and West Ham to – effectively – go away.

As things stand, Nicolas Jackson is leading the line almost singlehandedly after Christopher Nkunku suffered a serious knee injury and Romelu Lukaku refuses to play.

Raheem Sterling is also out of form, so it would be a bizarre move for Pochettino to let Broja go in the current circumstances.

Therefore, the 51-year-old is spot on with his decision to keep the Slough-born striker around, as he could be set for a significant role if Jackson suffers an injury in the next few months.

Hopefully, Broja can regain full fitness soon and make a return to the bench, with many at Chelsea eager to see him kickstart his career once again.
