Chelsea must really be getting under the skin of some of their Premier League rivals right now.
Enzo Maresca‘s men have just won the Club World Cup, which the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United will be envious about.
Chelsea also signed one of Brighton & Hove Albion’s best players, Joao Pedro, earlier this month. Pedro shone at the Club World Cup, linking up with the Blues mid-tournament.
Co-sporting directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley were able to beat Newcastle United to Pedro’s signature and could be about to steal another one of the Magpies’ targets.

Newcastle fear Chelsea will hijack Hugo Ekitike move
Earlier in the summer, Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike was being heavily linked with Chelsea.
Since then, Newcastle have made a move for the 23-year-old and appeared to be in pole position to sign him.
However, it is thought that Liverpool also have Ekitike on their radar, while Chelsea’s interest may not have vanished completely.
In fact, according to GiveMeSport, Newcastle are “worried” about Chelsea potentially hijacking their move for the £86m-rated Frenchman.
Having already lost out on Pedro, Eddie Howe will be desperate to land Ekitike. But both Liverpool and Chelsea being in the picture really complicates things for the 2025 Carabao Cup winners.

What Hugo Ekitike signing could mean for Nicolas Jackson
Chelsea signing Ekitike from Eintracht would almost certainly spell the end of Nicolas Jackson‘s career at Stamford Bridge.
The Chelsea Chronicle has already been told that intermediaries are currently exploring other options for Jackson.
The 24-year-old has fallen down the striker pecking order at Chelsea following the arrivals of Pedro and Liam Delap.
It was Pedro who started for the Blues in the Club World Cup final last Sunday, and the Brazilian did not disappoint. Pedro scored his side’s third goal as they went on to beat Paris Saint-Germain 3-0.
Pedro could also play on the left, so there is a possibility of him starting there while Ekitike leads the line for Chelsea if the club do go on to sign the former PSG man.
