Axel Disasi’s Chelsea career looks over, but the defender may get an opportunity to remain in the Premier League.
Disasi spent the second half of last season out on loan at Aston Villa, but a return there is not an option that is currently on the table.
In May, it was reported that Villa had no plans to sign Disasi permanently, with the 27-year-old having since returned to Chelsea.
However, he could get a move to one of Villa’s rivals before the transfer window closes at the beginning of September.

Wolves planning to use performance-based bonuses to sign Axel Disasi
Earlier this month, it was claimed that Wolverhampton Wanderers were interested in signing Disasi from Chelsea.
Nothing has been agreed yet, but that could be about to change. According to CaughtOffside, Wolves are exploring “creative” solutions to sign the Frenchman, including using performance-based bonuses in a potential deal.
Vitor Pereira looks like he is in need of defensive reinforcements after a disappointing start to the new Premier League season.
Wolves lost their first game of the campaign 4-0 to Manchester City before losing 1-0 against Bournemouth on Saturday.
Enzo Maresca would not say no to a new central defender either following Levi Colwill’s ACL injury, but the Italian still has other solid centre-half options.

Wolves facing competition from another Premier League club to sign Axel Disasi
Wolves may have to see off competition from one of their Premier League rivals to sign Disasi this summer.
It is thought that Bournemouth are also keen on Disasi after losing both Dean Huijsen and Illia Zabarnyi.
The France international did not have the most productive loan at Villa, making just seven appearances in the Premier League. However, that does not appear to have deterred Wolves and Bournemouth.
| Axel Disasi’s loan at Aston Villa | Total |
| Appearances | 10 |
| Minutes | 614 |
| Goals | 0 |
| Assists | 0 |
| Yellow cards | 2 |
| Red cards | 0 |
Despite Colwill picking up a serious injury, Disasi has not been brought back into the first-team fold at Chelsea, so he is far from Maresca’s thinking. Bearing that in mind, the former AS Monaco man should be looking to leave Stamford Bridge permanently.
