Chelsea winger Raheem Sterling has been linked to a few Premier League clubs recently.

It comes after Raheem Sterling was stripped of his No.7 shirt and banished from the Chelsea first team.

One Premier League club who could end up signing the 29-year-old before the transfer window closes on Friday are Manchester United. Sterling isn’t against joining Manchester United, despite having already played for Manchester City and Liverpool.

However, another top-flight side appear to have no interest in pursuing a deal for Sterling in what is left of this transfer window.

Crystal Palace will not sign Raheem Sterling from Chelsea this summer

Crystal Palace are another Premier League club who Sterling has been linked to following his Chelsea exile.

A switch from Stamford Bridge to Selhurst Park, though, seems very unlikely. Having lost Michael Olise to Bayern Munich, Sterling could be a great addition to Oliver Glasner’s squad.

But according to The Independent, Palace have decided not to target the England international ahead of Friday’s deadline.

Chelsea could struggle to find a buyer for Sterling, though a potential swap deal involving United’s Jadon Sancho has been mooted. Chelsea may need to pay some of Sterling’s wages in order to offload him to another club.

Would Raheem Sterling have joined Crystal Palace?

Joining Palace would have allowed Sterling to remain in London and play football. At Chelsea, he is not going to kick a ball this season.

Even if Sterling does get reintegrated into the senior squad, he is going to have to compete against the likes of Pedro Neto, Christopher Nkunku and Mykhailo Mudryk for a spot.

There is simply no room for him. If he had a choice between that and Palace, he may have decided to move to Selhurst Park.

Of course, his wages would have been a problem and at 29, the former City star will still feel that he can play at the highest level. It is a hard one to call, but maybe he would have been open to a loan move to the Eagles.
