A Chelsea player who was on the club’s pre-season tour this summer is now reportedly the subject of interest from a Premier League side.

It’s been another busy summer at Stamford Bridge, this time because the players have been getting used to new head coach Enzo Maresca.

BBC Sport has claimed that Maresca has been received positively by Chelsea’s stars. How many of the large squad will still be at the club by the time the transfer window shuts, though?

Ipswich in talks for Armando Broja

Ipswich Star claims on Thursday that Ipswich Town are now in talks over a possible move for Chelsea’s Armando Broja.

It is explained that the Premier League outfit, who’ve just completed back-to-back promotions to the top division, are discussing the 22-year-old Blues striker.

The report says that Ipswich are likely to be wanting to bring him to Portman Road on loan initially.

This comes after The Daily Mail recently claimed that Broja is expected to leave Chelsea this summer.

Meanwhile, i News reports that Everton have made an enquiry to sign Broja, but they’re relying on selling Dominic Calvert-Lewin first.

He needs a move

During the remaining weeks of the summer window, Broja needs to ensure he gets himself a transfer move, whether that’s on loan or permanently to a new club.

The young centre-forward was with Chelsea’s first-team group during the pre-season tour of the United States, but he featured in just two of the five matches. It certainly looks like he’s quite far down the pecking order under Maresca.

For newly-promoted Ipswich, Broja would be a really solid addition for them as they look to stay in the top league. Described as “dynamic” by Fulham boss Marco Silva (BBC), Broja must be desperate to get regular minutes and get his career back on track.

The Albania international needs a blank canvas because he’s fallen off since a long-term injury. Let’s remember that he’s still only 22 and does have potential, though.

If Ipswich can sign the version of Broja that shined on loan at Southampton in the 2021/22 season, they’d be in luck.
