Chelsea are reportedly prepared to send their attacker out on loan this summer, and they’re now in talks with a Premier League club about a potential deal.

There’s now only a few days left of the summer transfer window, so it’ll be interesting to see how busy things are at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues currently have several high-profile attackers not involved in the first-team picture under Enzo Maresca. In fairness, the team showed at the weekend they’re already stacked with serious quality in the forward positions.

Chelsea dismantled Wolverhampton Wanderers 6-2 away from home on Sunday in the Premier League as they flexed their attacking muscles. Noni Madueke scored a remarkable hat-trick, while Cole Palmer provided a hat-trick of assists.

Everton hold talks with Chelsea for David Datro Fofana

According to TEAMtalk, Premier League rivals Everton and Chelsea have been in discussions over a possible loan deal for David Datro Fofana.

It is explained that Chelsea are willing to send Fofana, 21, out on loan in the remaining days of the transfer window. However, the Blues are unlikely to include an option or obligation to buy in any loan deal because the youngster is highly rated by the decision-makers at the club.

The report adds that Everton would prefer to sign the Blues striker on loan because of their financial situation. Talks are not yet at an advanced stage, plus there’s interest from other clubs as well.

Also, Fofana’s keen to go out and get more Premier League experience after spending the second half of last season with Burnley. He scored four goals in 15 games across all competitions for them, but couldn’t keep the Clarets in the top division.

David Datro Fofana to Everton would get a big tick

If Fofana joins Everton on loan before Friday’s deadline, it would be a great move for all parties involved.

For Everton, they desperately need some more options in attack. It’s been a poor start to the new season for the Merseyside club after losing 3-0 to Brighton and 4-0 to Tottenham so far.

Fofana is still a young prospect with a lot to prove, but he certainly showed some quality moments last season in Burnley colours in the top division. He’s a bullish centre-forward with great pace, strength and energy.

Vincent Kompany described Fofana as “very fast” via Burnley’s official website last season, and that injection of speed into Sean Dyche’s Everton side right now is needed.
