Paris Saint-Germain do not seem to be too confident about signing one Chelsea target this summer.

PSG could need to sign a replacement for Kylian Mbappe at the end of the season and Victor Osimhen is a potential option for them, Ben Jacobs has told GiveMeSport.

However, according to the journalist, there is a feeling at the Parc des Princes that the Napoli striker wants to move to the Premier League.

It is good news for Chelsea, with the Evening Standard reporting that Osimhen is a key target for the Blues.

The same outlet also claims that the 25-year-old’s new contract has a £112m release clause in it.

The feeling at PSG is that Osimhen wants to move to England, according to Jacobs.

Discussing the French club’s plans for the summer, he said: “PSG’s budget for the forthcoming season allows them to move freely in the market without feeling like they have taken a financial hit by Kylian Mbappe’s prospective departure. Therefore, they can start looking, in the summer, for potential replacements should the need arise.

“One of those names is Victor Osimhen, but there is a lower confidence about that being possible because the feeling within PSG is that he wants to move to the Premier League, which is potentially good news for Arsenal or Chelsea.”

Chelsea may not be flying in the Premier League right now, but they should still feel confident about winning the race for Osimhen’s signature over PSG.

The Nigerian has already stated that he can see himself playing in the English top flight one day.

Where a problem could arise is if another Premier League side like Arsenal decide to make a strong push for Osimhen.

They are a more appealing destination than Chelsea these days, with the Gunners a Champions League team again and competing for the title.

But if it is a straight shoot-out between Chelsea and PSG, we are confident that the Blues can win the transfer tussle. Osimhen’s heart is clearly set on the Premier League.
