PSG have just made a £68.8m bid to sign Randal Kolo Muani from Eintracht Frankfurt – after the striker held talks about joining Chelsea.

That is according to Sky Sports.

So, what is the latest on Chelsea target Randal Kolo Muani? Let’s take a look…

What’s the story?

Well, the Parisians have already made a €65m (£56m) bid for the France international, which was rejected by Eintracht Frankfurt – according to Florian Plettenburg of Sky Germany.

Now – however – PSG have returned with an improved £68.8m offer.

It comes after L’Equipe claimed that Chelsea held talks about bringing Muani to Stamford Bridge earlier this summer.

Fortunately for Mauricio Pochettino – who admitted on Friday that he wants Chelsea to sign a new forward – Sky Sports here in England have since revealed that this bid has also been rejected.

Therefore, Muani is still up for grabs, although Sky Sports add that Muani would like to join PSG, so Chelsea have a mission on their hands if they are to sign the Eintracht Frankfurt No.9 this summer.

The Frenchman made a name for himself in the 2023/24 campaign by remarkably scoring 23 goals – and providing 17 assists – in 46 appearances.

Chelsea have alternative to PSG target Kolo Muani

Last week, it sounded as if Pochettino wanted a diminutive, creative attacker as links to Rayan Cherki and Mohammed Kudus did the rounds.

Now – however – Chelsea are being linked to a vastly different type of striker, with proper No.9 style forwards like Muani and Ivan Toney hitting the headlines.

According to the Independent, Chelsea could still make a move for Brentford No.17 Toney before Friday’s transfer deadline, so perhaps a true centre-forward could arrive rather than a silky attacking midfielder.

Be sure to keep an eye on developments at Stamford Bridge this week, as we expect Chelsea to be busy.
