RB Leipzig have reportedly set an asking price of £75m for star defender Josko Gvardiol, who Chelsea are believed to be interested in signing.
According to 90min, the Bundesliga giants are keen to make a massive profit from the Croatian international this summer after a breakout year for club and country, with Manchester City and Real Madrid joining Chelsea in the race to sign the 21-year-old.
And now, Leipzig have named their asking price for Gvardiol at £75m, though there is every chance that this figure could increase given just how good the defender has been this year and the immense potential the centre-back has.
Lauded as ‘fantastic’ by Frank Lebouef, Gvardiol has been wanted by Chelsea for almost 12 months, with the west London side almost signing the Leipzig star last summer before the German club managed to secure the defender down to a new contract.

However, given how much Gvardiol has developed this season, there’s every chance that the Blues will make another attempt to sign the defender, though a lack of European football could be a major hindrance for Graham Potter’s side in the summer.
Chelsea currently sit 11th in the Premier League, and whilst Todd Boehly could break the bank in the transfer window to rejuvenate the squad, attracting the likes of Gvardiol will be a challenge with zero continental football, even with a tempting asking price of £75m.
Gvardiol’s asking price too perfect for Chelsea this summer

Chelsea are set for their biggest transfer window in years this summer, a stunning revelation given how much has been spent in Todd Boehly’s brief time at Stamford Bridge, yet given how much work needs to be done, big moves are expected, and Gvardiol could be ideal based on his asking price.
Whilst no European football could be a challenge, Chelsea still have the stature and the pull to bring a top talent like the Croatian to west London, and Gvardiol could add a lot of quality for the Blues in the defence that has been lacking greatly this season.
