Fabrizio Romano has claimed on Twitter that Chelsea may have the opportunity to sign Borussia Dortmund’s Youssoufa Moukoko from as early as next month.

The Blues have been linked recently with an extraordinary move for the teenager, whose contract is set to expire at the end of the season.

They may push to accelerate their efforts to sign the striker after the news surrounding current attacker Armando Broja.

The Albanian was forced off on a stretcher during the club’s friendly against Aston Villa at the weekend, with him potentially set for the rest of the season on the sidelines.

Despite his young age, Moukoko has already been making waves at international level. He became the youngest player to appear for Germany at a World Cup when he featured in Qatar.

After reports claimed that he was not too keen on signing a new deal to stay with the Bundesliga side, rumours of Chelsea’s interest quickly followed.

Chelsea could sign Moukoko next month

Romano has claimed that while Dortmund are still trying to extend his contract with them, they will need to get things done this month in order to fend off interest.

He said: “Moukoko deal. BVB have still chances to extend his contract, player has great relationship with Terzić & club — but timing is crucial, they’ve to act within December with good proposal.

“English & Spanish clubs ready to push in January if new deal won’t be agreed now.”

Todd Boehly’s approach certainly seems to be signing young players who will soon be ready to compete for places in the starting side at Stamford Bridge.

This has been shown in is approach for 20-year-old Josko Gvardiol, although is also evident in some of the signings he has already made.

The likes of Omari Hutchinson were signed young, however are already showing potential that they can break into the first team.
